Grief & Loss

Meet Lisa

Lisa was married to her late husband Eddie for eight-years. Due to the chronic illness of her spouse, his health unexpectedly declined, and he passed away. Lisa immediately started going through deep grief over his death. She truly loved Eddie with all her heart and knew he was her soulmate since their first date. She missed him terribly. Mostly his laugh, joy for caring for others, and sense of adventure. She missed him as a person and being able to share her love with him. Lisa started having feelings of guilt and regret about decisions she allowed him to make pertaining to maintaining his health. Her grief fluctuated in waves from grateful memories and experiences they shared, to regular crying episodes, feelings of lonesomeness, and symptoms of depression.

Solution: Until Lisa decides to embrace her emotions and start implementing a healthy process in her grieving and loss journey, she will likely continue to be stuck in feelings of regret and guilt.

Time for PEACE and rejoining the LIVING.

Meet the Visionary

“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.” Philippians 2:3

Nicole Whitley, LCSW, C-GC

The early stages of Ms. Whitley’s career development began at the age of 20, whereby she worked directly for people with intellectual disabilities. Intrigued by the system of care while working in various non-profit organizations, Ms. Whitley was inspired to further her education in the Human Service field. By God’s divine direction, Ms. Whitley obtained her Associate of Applied Science degree from Westchester Community College, Bachelor of Social Work degree from Mercy College, and then Masters of Social Work Degree from Saint Leo University. Again, led by God, Nicole found her vocation within the hospice setting as a Medical Social Worker providing emotional support, education, and resources to families during one’s most sensitive times, end-of-life. Still, in pursuit of her life’s calling, Ms. Whitley obtained her credentials as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker* with an emphasis on working with those overcoming grief and loss. If asked, “State two words that best describe Ms. Nicole Whitley.” The answer is SERVANT LEADER! Ms. Nicole Whitley has a compassionate heart and desire to aid those seeking direction, encouragement, and motivation to move forward from past hurts, hang-ups, and losses. Through personal experiences, guidance from God, and education, Ms. Whitley overcame many challenges presented through life. In her free time, Ms. Whitley enjoys being a mother, a caretaker for her elderly mom, and a pet mom for her two loving dogs Jerry and Destiny.
